The Al Ain Court of Civil, Commercial, and Administrative Cases ruled that three teenagers and the guardians of two minors must pay AED 30,000 in compensation to the guardian of a minor who was subjected to a group assault that resulted in bruises to his head, neck, and shoulder.
The incident dates back to a dispute that broke out among four teenagers during what began as joking, which escalated into physical assault. The defendants were convicted under a final criminal judgment. The court confirmed the establishment of fault and the elements of tort liability, including the physical and psychological harm suffered by the victim, as well as the negative impact on his academic performance.
The court also emphasized the responsibility of the guardians of the minors for the actions of their children and ordered them to bear the fees and expenses, while rejecting the remaining claims.
